Top 10 ISPs in Nigeria: Which Do you Use?
Broadband has become an important part of our lives. It is now a necessity like other utilities such as food, electricity and fuel.
However, ISPs and broadband services in Nigeria have repeatedly been described as Plug ‘n’ Pray services. Simply put, you plug them in and pray they work well.
According to Ookla’s NetIndex, Nigeria currently ranks in 129th place globally and 9th in Africa for broadband speeds. Ookla is the global leader in broadband testing and web-based network diagnostic applications.
Based on millions of recent test results from Speedtest.net, the index compares and ranks consumer download speeds around the globe.
Here’s a list of the top 10 Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in Nigeria based on current broadband speeds with at least 100 tests in the current index, according to NetIndex.
These results were obtained by analyzing test data between Feb 11, 2012 and Mar 11, 2012. Also, tests from 58,970 unique IPs were taken in Nigeria and of 316,197 total tests, 12,489 were used for the current Index.
Do you think that these results are accurate? Which ISP do you use?
